Hydraulic Distributors recently designed and developed a custom variable tensile tester power pack featuring a hydraulic power pack, 2 hydraulic double-acting cylinders and a 24-volt control circuit. This power pack was created to meet the specific needs and specifications of our client. The project utilised a comprehensive design-build approach, successfully addressing the unique challenges of integrating a power pack that can perform variable force load testing and that is controlled using an electro-proportional solenoid valve.
A tensile tester is an essential instrument for evaluating the tensile strength, yield strength and ductility of materials. This device is designed to determine a material's resistance to tensile stress, providing critical insights necessary for various applications. The key functions required from our custom-built tensile testing system included variable pressure control of the cylinders to allow variable tensile forces to be applied to the test sample, the ability to use two hydraulic cylinders simultaneously or individually for testing two samples at the same time and an electrical control circuit to control the system.
Our variable tensile testing system featured the following specifications:
Our custom-designed variable tensile tester provides several advantages:
Our variable tensile tester system, equipped with a hydraulic power pack and electro-proportional relief valve, offers a robust solution for precise material testing. The hydraulic power pack ensures consistent flow to the cylinders, while the electro-proportional relief valve adjusts the pressure to the cylinders, enabling variable cylinder force for versatile testing conditions. This design enhances the tester’s ability to accommodate a wide range of materials, providing customisable test settings for accurate and reliable results. With its precise control, adjustable settings, and durable 24V system, the power pack ensures safe, efficient, and flexible operation, making it an essential tool in industries focused on material research, quality control, and product development.
