Waste Bin Truck Cylinder Repair

In the workshop during December we repaired a waste bin truck by removing both marelle cylinders and correcting their lengths.

First the team disassembled and measured both cylinders, finding that the total variance between the two cylinders was less than 3mm. We carried out a bypass test on both cylinders and discovered that the passenger side cylinder required a new piston seal, and that 3 out of 4 counterbalance valves were defective or unable to be adjusted.

Finally, we manufactured two new pins for the cap end of the two marelle cylinders and checked the relief valve settings were to the correct psi.
